Bring your own wine and beer to enjoy on the porch with views stretching as far as Mt. Monadnock in neighboring New Hampshire. Or pick up a box lunch at the Grafton Village Store or a selection of cheese from the Grafton Cheese Company to bring back and enjoy by the pond after a swim. Or read in the gazebo, nap in the hammock or just lay back on the grass and listen to the birds. No noise, no stress, no demands

Wood-Fired Sauna, Lower Pond

On the cooler evenings, the wood-fired sauna makes for a great experience. Fire it up to 180 degrees, sweat out the toxins of daily living and then jump into the spring-fed pond. This is the ultimate stress buster. You will be relaxed. There is a canoe and floating tubes by the swimming dock.

Take a stroll through the lush walking and hiking trails that traverse the property. In the Fall, pick apples from our orchard next to the barn. If you're lucky, we'll be pressing apples for cider for our guests. We can always use some help with the pressing. No pay but the juice pouring out of the antique cider press is the best.

Upper Pond

Walk up the private wooded lane about a half-mile to the upper pond. With its floating diving/sunning dock it's a favorite with many of our younger guests. Sometimes called our "skinny dipping" pond because of its privacy in the wooded acres of Woodchuck Hill, there is also a kayak.

Nearby you'll find the Daniel Barton home cellar hole dating back to the original settler period in this area. There is also a fresh water spring where you can sample the purest, cleanest water coming out of the ground as it has for the past 200 years. This is the water that flows into our ponds.
